About Dr. Snyder

Larry Snyder, MD, is the Co-Founder of Satori Recovery Center, an addiction treatment center in Laguna Beach, California. Dr. Snyder completed his undergraduate studies in philosophy and pre-med at the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated with Honors in Philosophy with a special interest in Eastern Studies and Buddhism. He’s been board-certified in addiction medicine since 2010. 

Dr. Snyder moved to California in 1980 for post-graduate training in Family Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. He completed his internship and residency at the UCI Medical Center in 1983 and became board-certified in family medicine that same year. In Dana Point, California, Dr. Snyder worked in a private practice setting from 1983-2017. He also served as the Chief of Staff at Mission Hospital Laguna Beach from 2000-2002. 

Dr. Snyder has been an active surfer and meditator for over 50 years. Dr. Snyder loves traveling and spending his free time on the road with his wife and children.  

Dr. Snyder has a lifelong interest in meditation and mindfulness techniques, especially as they apply to the treatment of the disease of addiction.  He is passionate about teaching mindfulness meditation to clients at Satori Recovery Center. He firmly believes that meditation is the foundation for recovery and brings psychic, emotional, mental, and spiritual balance when practiced regularly. Dr. Snyder’s ongoing life pursuit is to bring this practice to as many people as possible, especially those people attempting the transformation out of addiction.
